BBC News recently featured a story about a Canadian couple who decided to keep their baby’s gender a secret. They aren’t informing anyone except members of their immediate family; even grandma and grandpa are out of the loop.
They are hoping to shelter Baby “Storm” from societal pressure to conform with gender identity until Storm has the opportunity to choose. They defend their decision as a “tribute to freedom” and are concerned that “the whole world must know what is between the baby’s legs is unhealthy, unsafe, and voyeuristic.”
