Petition Donald Trump: Give the $5 Million Regardless

Donald Trump launched his “bomb” yesterday; if Barack Obama would release his college transcripts and passport application, Trump would donate $5 million to a charity of Obama’s choice. You can see the video at the bottom of this article if you haven’t watched it yet.

He said that this was a “check I want to write”.

I will give, to a charity of his choice, inner city children in Chicago, American Cancer Society, AIDS research, anything he wants…

Not only will I be happy, but the American people will be happy, and you know what, those charities would be very, very happy.”

There is so much wrong with this that it’s difficult to address.  Trump’s idea is offensive, patronizing, and frankly amounts to philanthropic terrorism.  He is ransoming the poverty of inner city kids, people battling cancer, and people ravaged by AIDS for his political ends.

And he’s using you to make his point.

So I’m suggesting that we, the people whom he has both ransomed and appealed to, demand that he equally distribute this $5 million between the charities he named on national television; a charity fighting inner city poverty in Chicago, the American Cancer Society, and a charity researching a cure for AIDS, regardless of Obama’s decision.

Since he promised to have the check furnished within one hour of the President’s acquiescence (so long as it happened before 5 pm on October 31st), we’re asking Trump to donate within one hour past that deadline in order to right a massive injustice to our society, humanity, and dignity.
